You need to decide whether you want to (or can afford to) pay for an advertising campaign or whether you would prefer to attract clients by means of a free campain.
Of course, free advertising is always preferential as you don't pay a dime for it. However there are times

You need to stop and ask yourself "what am I trying to acheive with my advertising?"
Just stop and think about this for a minute...................... is your answer "to get as many visitors to my Website or affiliate page as possible", do you think this is the end goal?
Wrong answer! your aim should be to get as many targeted visitors to your site/affiliate page as possible, notice I said targeted visitors, let's just look at this for a second.

NOW! | I hate "RAP music" with a passion (call me an old fart or whatever, but it won't change my view). You have a Website that is dedicated to "RAP music" and all it's proponents.
You put out a general advert to the masses extolling the virtues of your site and have a fantastic response - 100 thousand visitors arrive at your site in one day - WOW!
You may be excited, you may think GREAT! But unfortunately 99.9% of those visitors are old farts, just like me, and hate RAP. They simply click away in disgust.
The other 0.1% have no real interest either way, that leaves you with only 100 real visitors who may be prepared to look at your offer.
Suppose you advertised in a music journal that was dedicated to RAP music and attracted 'only' 1000 visitors instead of 100,000 - where would that leave you?
Right - in the pound seats! - You now have 1000 people who are interested in your product climbing all over your website with great relish. They are more than likely going to be interested in what you have to offer and you will have a much better likelihood of success.
By attracting a smaller number of targeted visitors rather than just masses of visitors you will achieve greater success and make money by the bucketful!
Right, Back to where to Advertise!
As I said there are hundreds of ways you can advertise, here are just a few off the top of my head,
- Ezines
- Safelists
- FFA sites
- other peoples websites
- Google/Yahoo or other search engines
- Viral Marketing
- Opt in mailing lists
- Rented lists
- Buying Visitors
- Blogging
- Newsletters

In fact the cap on the places to advertise is only limited by your imagination - I once heard about someone who went into the toilets at his nearest major airport and unravelled all the toilet rolls, then inserted copies of his business card as he rewound each one!!
He claimed to have had great success!! This certainly is a novel way of advertising, but I'm not advocating you try it, time could be a big factor.
However, it just shows you that you don't have to restrict yourself to online advertising to promote your business.
What about your local newspaper? Pop an Ad in there and direct the reponse to your webpage or affiliate site. |
As I said the list is endless, I'll explain the above in a little more detail just now but first, if you are really serious about making your online business work you need the inside story on how to utilise these resources to their full extent. You must get your own free copy of my traffic guide if you haven't already done so.
It really is becoming the bible of traffic generation on the web today - no serious Web marketer can afford to be without it!
